New bill would increase developer fee

The filing fee for condominium and co-op developers in New York could increase if a bill being proposed in the state Legislature passes. The fee would increase to a maximum of $30,000 per project, up from $20,000. State attorney general Andrew Cuomo would use the new revenue to pay for more enforcement of rules for new developments. Complaints increased to 929 in 2006, up from 299 four years earlier.
