Luxe suites revealed at Atlantic Yards arena

The fate of the office and residential towers at Bruce Ratner’s Atlantic Yards project might be in doubt, but that hasn’t dampened expectations for the Nets basketball arena there. New renderings from architect Frank Gehry show that the 130 luxury suites will be a highlight at the 18,000-seat Barclays Center. They will hit the market for $200,000 to $540,000 a year on May 15. The suites feature a wet bar and refrigerator, pool table, upscale furniture, catered dining, concierge staff, theater-style seats, big-screen TVs and phone and internet service. Other perks include VIP parking and access to exclusive arena restaurants, lounges and entrances. A dozen courtside boxes start at $540,000; those are 340 square feet and seat eight. Leases will be offered for five, seven or ten years. Meanwhile, the cost of building the arena has jumped the $637 million $950 million.
