The president and CEO of a Manhattan-based satellite company paid $10.02 million for a penthouse co-op unit at 778 Park Avenue.

Michael Targoff and his wife Sharzad bought the apartment from the estate of socialite Gloria Gurney on August 14, according to city records published today.

In 2006, Targoff was named CEO at Loral Space and Communications, which designs and builds commercial and government satellites.

A 14-room duplex in the building owned by the late socialite Brooke Astor has been listed for $46 million.

In February, the cosmetics heir William Lauder closed on a 14-room apartment for $27.5 million in the 18-story, Rosario Candela-designed apartment building at 73rd Street.
