New high school building dangerous, parents say

The Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice, a high school that opened September 2 in the former family court building at 283 Adams Street in Downtown Brooklyn, is dangerous, according to parents and students. A brick fell from a ceiling into an office, and an unlocked door lead to a 10-foot drop. The building also has a leaky roof and a malfunctioning fire alarm. A spokeswoman for the Department of Education said the building, on which work continues, is safe.
