Bloomberg threatens to halt Brooklyn Bridge Park funding

Mayor
Michael Bloomberg is threatening to withhold city funding of Brooklyn
Bridge Park unless state officials hand over full control of the
project. “If they are not willing to turn it over to us, we’ll turn it
over to them,” Bloomberg said. The park is expected to cost $350
million, with the city so far contributing $146 million and the state
contributing $85 million. A spokesperson for Governor David Paterson
said the state and city are currently working on a deal.
