Rockefeller Center gallery moves to Chelsea

Art powerhouse Haunch of Venison’s New York gallery will leave its Rockefeller Center home at 1230 Sixth Avenue later this year for a new space at 550 West 21st Street. The Chelsea space is currently occupied by Parisian dealer and collector Yvon Lambert, who has been there since 2007.

Lambert’s gallery was custom designed by Richard Gluckman and Thomas Zolli and, at 6,000 square feet, is one of Chelsea’s larger galleries, enjoying a place on a block that includes the Paula Cooper and Gagosian galleries.

Haunch of Venison, owned by Christie’s International, will open the space Sept. 23 with an inaugural exhibition by artists including Peter Saul and Eve Sussman. Its London gallery is also relocating within that city. [NYO]
