Who will Trump endorse?

Despite claiming earlier this week that he may still run for the position himself, developer Donald Trump may be planning to endorse former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for president in Las Vegas today, sources told the Washington Post.

He is planning to make the announcement at 3.30 p.m., a senior Romney campaign office said.

While the endorsement may come as a surprise, it will likely have very little effect on Romney’s campaign, statistics show. A recent poll cited by the Post showed that almost 70 percent of right-leaning voters said a Trump endorsement was irrelevant to their vote. Some even said that it would cause them to oppose rather than support a candidate.

Meanwhile, earlier reports suggested Trump would endorse former speaker of the house Newt Gingrich for president.
