Trump bid on Garden City Hotel

Long Island’s Garden City Hotel, which sold to a group led by Morris Moinian of the Manhattan-based Fortuna Realty Group in June, was also eyed by Donald Trump, Newsday reported.

“Trump was serious about his bid,” a source told Newsday. Moinian’s group was considered “a better fit” for the 280-room, nine-floor hotel, Newsday said.

A closing price for the 280-room hotel, which has housed guests such as John F. Kennedy, Margaret Thatcher, and Charles Lindbergh, has not been disclosed. [Newsday]
