The Diller-Quaile School of Music picked up a Carnegie Hill townhouse for $7.4 million.

The five-story, 5,300-square-foot building at 20 East 95th Street will hold extra classroom space, though it will need to be renovated first. Douglas Elliman broker Gilad Azaria had the listing for the property, which asked $7.99 million in April. The music school was founded at 24 East 95th Street, near Madison Avenue, in the 1920s. Its historic digs will continue to serve as headquarters.

“We’re definitely not selling here,” director of development Caroline Nagy told the New York Observer. “We moved to this location in 1955; we want to be where we can continue to serve our constituents in Carnegie Hill.” [NYO]Mark Maurer
