A new 52-unit rental building in South Williamsburg has begun leasing.

It was only three years ago that the city began the clean up and redevelopment of the then-vacant, contaminated lot at 456 Grand Street as part of the PlaNYC Brownfield Cleanup Program, as The Real Deal had reported at the time. Before it was vacant, the site was home to a gas station.

The apartment complex contains largely one- and two-bedroom units, ranging from $2,225 per month for a studio to $6,000 per month for the sole three-bedroom, Curbed reported. There are two shared rooftop terraces with solar panels; a parking garage; and a gym. MNS is handling leasing.

The $15 million, six-story building also has a ground-floor retail space. [Curbed]Mark Maurer
