Martha Stewart Living, the troubled media company founded by the namesake culinary and crafts guru, handed off 45,000 square feet of its space at RXR Realty’s Starrett-Lehigh Building at 601 West 26th Street.

The company will continue to occupy a 130,000-square-foot space on the ninth floor. Advertising agency mcgarrybowen, which has offices on the 10th floor of the building, will lease the now available space. Mcgarrybowen leases about 300,000 square feet of the building’s 2.3 million square feet.

Nearly 35,000 square feet of Martha Stewart Living’s space hit the sublet market in 2012, as The Real Deal reported at the time. The company has occupied space there since 1999.

Sacha Zarba and David Hollander of CBRE Group represented mcgarrybowen in the deal for the space. [Crain’s]Mark Maurer
