City permits reveal new details about Anbau Enterprises’ Upper East Side residential tower at First Avenue and 89th Street.

The 34-story tower at 1717 First Avenue will comprise 189,890 square feet. Each of the planned 78 apartments will average 2,400 square feet, New York YIMBY reported. The property has previously been described as “affordable luxury.” Construction on the development is slated to start later this year and finish in 2016. The permits call for 3,588 square feet of retail at the ground level. SHoP is the architect of record.
