WEEKENDEDITION Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has officially expanded his One Madison penthouse compound. Murdoch has now closed on the 57th floor, adding it to his existing triplex penthouse at an additional cost of $14.9 million.

In March, Murdoch purchased the 6,850-square-foot penthouse of the 60-story tower, on the southeast side of Madison Square Park, for $43.01 million – he requested that it be delivered as white box, according to the New York Times.

However, the 3,310-square-foot 57th floor was purchased fully finished, with interiors by Yabu Pushelberg.

Word of both the penthouse and the 57th floor buy came out in February. Apparently, Murdoch added the fourth level after determining that his lifestyle and art collection required at least 10,000 square feet of space. Dolly Lenz represent Murdoch in the deal. [NYT] Christopher Cameron
