The Central United Talmudical Academy filed plans yesterday for a five-story all-girls Hasidic school in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The 196,450-square-foot building at 401 Park Avenue will serve as a spinoff of the Central UTA school. The academy, led by Rabbi Mordechai Hirsch, acquired the site at Taaffe Place for $3 million earlier this year.

The school is slated to be more than double the density of the floor-area ratio usually permitted within M1-2 zoning, which is the zoning for that area of the neighborhood. [NY YIMBY]Mark Maurer
