The board of the Atelier tower at 635 W. 42nd Street, between 11th and 12th Avenues, plans to install an ice-skating rink on the roof of the property, the first of its kind in the city.

“The outside space has always been wasted during the winter,” board president Dan Neiditch told the Daily News. “Now, you’ll be able to skate around while overlooking the city.”

Though when Neiditch says “You,” he means “residents,” as the rink will not be open to the public.

The 3,000-square-foot rink is set to open Nov. 15 and will remain open through March. The 46-story Atelier tower overlooks the Hudson River to the west and has views of the Empire State Building and Times Square. The building’s celebrity residents have included Lindsay Lohan, Ricky Martin and Brendan Fraser. [NYDN] —TRD
