NY nominates new CEO of Empire State Development

The New York state-run Empire State Development Corporation has named Howard Zemsky as president and CEO. Zemsky will replace Kenneth Adams, who was nominated as commissioner of the state Taxation and Finance Department

Zemsky, the head of the Buffalo, N.Y.-based firm Larkin Development Group, which is handling the redevelopment of Buffalo’s Larkin District, was also nominated as commissioner of economic development for the state.

Zemsky will be appointed pending state Senate confirmation, Buffalo Business First reported. Empire State Development sold the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square to Host Hotels & Resorts in 2013, as The Real Deal reported. [Buffalo Business First]Mark Maurer
