Robert Duffy, the president of fashion designer Marc Jacobs, has found a buyer for his West Village townhouse. Duffy was asking $8 million, but the property sold for $5.5 million.

Built in 1840, the house – located at 35 West 12th Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues — includes four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. It also features decorative fireplaces, 11-foot ceilings, a new mahogany staircase and a garden, according to the New York Post.

The buyer is Rosalind Resnick, a journalist turned real estate investor, the Post confirmed. Resnick made her fortune by selling an e-mail marketing firm she co-founded for $111 million in cash.

But it doesn’t look like Resnick is moving in, as she’s already relisted the house as a $25,000-a-month rental. [NYP] Christopher Cameron
