Suave art gallery ups the ante on the LES

From Luxury Listings NYC: The crowd at the inaugural opening of 154 Ludlow Street, the address of the Lower East Side’s latest contemporary art gallery, felt distinctly uptown. Aside from an odd model or downtown designer, ladies in fur and gray-haired gentlemen sporting double-windsors milled about the white-walled space, giving one another a hearty “bonsoir.”

The show, titled “Sinthome,” explored the ideas of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan through a collection of mixed-media artworks. Tall flutes of Taittinger Champagne — the birthright of the gallery’s owner, Richard Taittinger — lubricated the tête-à-têtes.[more]
