Avison Young’s Jason Meister has jumped ship to joined Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group’s boutique investment sales team.

Meister, who was named one of The Real Deal’s rising stars in 2014, joins a small sales team of brokers headed by David Robinov that earlier this year poached top broker Marion Jones from Eastern Consolidated.

“Over decades, we’ve worked very hard to be the best debt and equity advisors in the business and are seeing how adding a boutique investment sales platform is enhancing overall execution for our clients,” said company principal Simon Ziff in a statement. “We are confident that Jason’s relationships, reputation, experience and drive, will help us grow, along with David and Marion, our investment sales market share in New York City.”

The former Avison Young vice president said he was excited to join Ackman “at a time when the market presents significant opportunities … to offer clients a broader range of options whether it be mezzanine debt, construction loans, or joint venture equity.
