Check out Jimmy Kimmel’s parody of Brooklyn gentrification

VIDEO: "Do the White Thing" sketch imagines an update of Spike Lee's classic 1989 film

It’s an empirical fact that parodies of the ongoing gentrification – and hipsterfication – of Brooklyn never get old. So here’s the latest from late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, aptly titled “Do the Right Thing 2: Do the White Thing.”

A send-up of Spike Lee’s classic 1989 film “Do the Ring Thing,” Kimmel’s skit pokes fun at Brooklyn’s rapidly changing neighborhoods, where residents profess their love for kale and can bond over the virtues of water conservation.

It also pays tribute to several memorable scenes from Lee’s original movie and features cameos from the likes of Rosie Perez, who reprises her role as Tina, as well as Billy Crudup and Zooey Deschanel.
