Economist: Housing will crash like stocks did

Not everyone thinks the housing market is in for a soft landing. Some insist it may, indeed, crash spectacularly, including Yale economist Robert Shiller, who predicted the stock market decline of a few years ago way back in 1996. He predicts that housing prices could fall 40 percent in inflated-adjusted terms in the next generation, and that this fall could trigger a recession. more [NYT]
