The chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, John Whitehead, wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Thursday that state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer threatened him for writing an earlier op-ed critical of Spitzer, also a candidate for governor. Whitehead said Spitzer threatened him over the phone with legal actions and intimidation. Spitzer’s office on Thursday acknowledged the phone call but denied the threats. more [Sun] and more [WSJ]
