Museum to marry art, architecture on the LES

The New Museum of Contemporary Art, scheduled to open on the Bowery on the Lower East Side in the autumn of 2007, will be clad in aluminum and will evoke from the street a stack of mismatched boxes on the verge of toppling over. Construction started in November, and the museum is being hailed as a marriage between Manhattan’s art and architecture communities. And, yes, it’s on the Lower East Side. more [NYT]
