New York Public Radio announced Wednesday it signed a 20-year lease for 75,600 square feet at 160-170 Varick Street in Hudson Square. WNYC will be moving from space in the Municipal Building at One Centre Street that it has occupied for 81 years. The station will occupy 71,900 square feet on two-and-a-half floors of the 12-story Hudson Square building, as well as a 3,700-square-foot street-level performance space. WNYC’s move is expected in the next 12 to 18 months following construction on the fresh space. By Tom Acitelli
