When big is too big — a case against Scarano

The sizes of architect Robert Scarano Jr.’s new projects around the city have prompted some residents and city officials to complain that he ignores zoning rules in order to build projects simply too big for the neighborhoods they’re inside. Some have accused Scarano of abusing the city’s professional certification program, which allows architects and engineers to police themselves by approving their own building plans. more [NYT]
