Citigroup Inc. has purchased the naming rights for the Mets’ new stadium in Flushing. Word has it that the financial group ponied up $20 million for the naming rights for the new park, which broke ground last week. ‘CitiField’ is scheduled to open in time for the 2009 baseball season and is located next to the Mets’ current home, Shea Stadium, in Queens. more [NYP]
