Slow progress in Union Square

The city is having a tough time getting its act together in Union Square, park activists say. For almost a year now, the Parks Department has been agonizing over two fairly small details in their plan to make changes to a playground and restaurant in the northern portion of the park. Now, a Parks Department spokesman says the agency won’t release a final plan of action until the spring, further delaying design changes that one park advocate says, “should have taken a couple of hours” to decide upon. more [NYO]
