Pier 15 plan draws controversy

Community Board 1 members are criticizing the city’s proposal to lease Pier 15 as part of the development plan for the East Side waterfront, which will result in a park that stretches from the Battery to Montgomery Street, where the East River Park begins. The EDC has floated a proposal that would allow the city to lease 6,000 square feet of Pier 15, at Maiden Lane, to a commercial tenant.
