Green gets cool at new tower

The Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, which is aiming to be the greenest skyscraper in the country when it opens in spring 2008, will have a huge icemaker and ice-storage device that cools the building, decreasing its dependence on energy-guzzling air conditioners. Other environmentally sustainable features in the building include an under-floor ventilation system and carbon dioxide monitors that automatically inject fresh air into rooms. more [AMNY]
