Navy Yard looks to the future

Business at Brooklyn’s Navy Yard is booming as Steiner Studios and B & H Photo expand their operations at the industrial site by hundreds of thousands of square feet, and even more build outs are in the works, according to Andrew Kimball, president of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation. Kimball said current plans call for using a 20-acre portion of the facility for a media campus, and that he believes the Navy Yard will expand vertically. He hopes to attract future tenants involved with green manufacturing and biotech, and to perhaps build a graduate-level research facility on the 300-acre site. more [Metro]
