A Brooklyn Councilman is leading a drive to strip architect Bob Scarano of his professional certification. The embattled architect is at the center of controversy surrounding plans for the construction of a Carroll Gardens building that many neighborhood residents feel will be out of context with surrounding properties. Councilman Bill de Blasio’s office has circulated a letter saying the NYS Education Dept. is “working closely” with the DOB to examine some of Scarano’s many projects; the Councilman has previously said that he wants to end “the curse of Scarano.” more [Gowanus Lounge]
