The Department of Buildings has issued a stop-work order for architect Robert Scarano’s project, “The Modern,” located at 205 North 7th Street in Williamsburg. The order came after neighbors complained that drilling at the site was damaging the walls of the L-line tunnel directly beneath it. Inspectors found no damage to the subway, but called for construction to stop on grounds of shoddy excavation. Scarano was issued 60 stop-work orders by the DOB in 2006. more [Post]
