Instead of browsing various classified ads or jumping from one brokerage Web site to another, viewers will be able to use Internet company Trulia’s real estate search engine.

Not all REBNY firms have volunteered to participate.

Neil Binder, principal and co-founder of Bellmarc Realty, a REBNY member, said that his company opted out of joining.

“They didn’t show me it was really a critical thing to have,” Binder said. “They made no effort to promote it to the public. When they launch it, no one will know about it.”

Should it prove effective, Binder is not opposed to participating.

“Anything that serves buyers, I will participate in,” Binder said, later adding, “anything that will make me money, that’s what I’m here for.”

A REBNY spokesman said the association would not comment until a media demonstration on Thursday. By Lauren Elkies
