The city plans to finance 234 units of affordable housing for teachers in the Bronx. Rents will range from $806 for a studio and $1,412 for a three-bedroom. Renters can earn up to 110 percent of the area’s median income. About 5,000 teachers left the city in 2005. The city began giving math, science and special education teachers housing subsidies last year.
