Mort Zuckerman, owner of Boston Properties, says a tower planned for Eighth Avenue, next to the Hearst Tower at 57th Street, will be 40 stories. He said its design, by KPF, is not “overwhelming” and will have a “simple elegance.” The Midtown section of Eighth Avenue, once overlooked, now has the new New York Times building at 40th Street and Worldwide Plaza at 49th Street. SJP Properties is building an office tower called 11 Times Square at 41st and 42nd streets.
