Redevelopment of Harlem stores protested

Harlem residents and business owners protested the planned demolition of 16 stores yesterday. Sigfeld Group and Kimco Realty Corp. bought a $50 million stretch of property along 125th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard and plan to replace businesses like the Bobby’s Happy House record store and Manna’s Soul Food Restaurant with condos, office space, chain stores and hotels.
