The New York Post is reporting that billionaire real-estate magnate Leonard Blavatnik has agreed to pay a record $150 million for a triplex apartment at the Upper East Side hotel The Mark. The deal would shatter what was believed to be the country’s record sale price for a home, besting by $50 million last year’s sale of the De Menil estate in East Hampton. A $150 million sale would also double the New York City record. The 30,000 square foot home would be a combination of five planned units on the hotel’s top three floors and would include 23 bedrooms and 25 bathrooms. The hotel at 25 East 77th Street, between Madison and Fifth avenues, is undergoing a gut renovation. Just last week, Blavatnik paid $50 million for Edgar Bronfman’s East 64th Street townhouse.
