Manhattan apartments break $500 per square foot

The average sales price of residential buildings in Manhattan south of 96th Street broke $500 per square foot for the first time in history, according to a report by Massey Knakal and appraisal firm Miller Cicero. The report also said that in Upper Manhattan, the average sales price of mixed-use buildings increased by 53.6 percent from the first half of 2006 to the first half of 2007.
