Developer Bruce Ratner plans to build a Renzo Piano-designed mixed-use tower on Jay Street in Downtown Brooklyn. It could reach 1,000 feet, a higher height than the borough’s tallest building, the Williamsburgh Savings Bank, now called One Hanson Place. The City Tech Tower would include residential, commercial and office space for the New York City College of Technology. The project is not part of Ratner’s massive Atlantic Yards development. City Councilwoman Letitia James said that no building should top One Hanson Place. more [NYDN] and more [Post]
