Court documents released yesterday reveal that Natavia Lowery told a different stories to detectives about what happened on October 30, the day her boss, celebrity broker Linda Stein, was murdered. According to the documents, Lowery initially said she left Stein’s Fifth Avenue home shortly after noon and that she learned of the murder the following day. She then changed her story to say she heard “seven thumps” after a masked man in black charged into the apartment and confronted Stein. Finally, documents say, Lowery confessed to Stein’s murder to interrogators the following morning. Lowery pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges of second-degree murder, and her lawyer is seeking bail on the grounds that Lowery’s confession was coerced and that she is seven weeks pregnant. more [NYT] and more [Post]
