Bronx residents protest loss of parkland to Yankee Stadium

December 18, 2007 10:29AM

The new Yankee Stadium is being built on 22 acres of parkland and Bronx
residents say the parks are not being properly replaced, as required. A
7-acre New Macombs Dam Park will be built atop a parking garage and
will feature an artificial turf soccer/football field, a 400-meter
running track, 10 handball courts and four basketball courts. But
critics say trees and open space are still being lost.
