Pols call for No. 7 station at 41st St.

Politicians are slamming the M.T.A.’s $2.1 billion plan to extend the
No. 7 subway line because it does not immediately call for a stop at
41st Street and Tenth Avenue. The M.T.A. says that the Second Avenue
Subway and its East Side Access plan will leave no money for the
station. Senator Charles Schumer, Rep. Anthony Weiner, Rep. Jerrold
Nadler and other politicians said yesterday that not including the
station in the initial construction could lead to $500 million in
additional costs if it is built later. more [Sun] and more [NYT]
