City may take museum site for park

Plans to build a museum in Greenpoint honoring the historic warship, USS Monitor, have been delayed, as the city has threatened to use eminent domain to seize the property for the development of a 28-acre, waterfront park. The Department of Parks and Recreation has offered the owners of the site space in the park’s buildings for the museum.
