Willets Point businesses get support from Queens chamber

The Queens Chamber of Commerce will support businesses that the city plans to relocate to make way for the massive Willets Point redevelopment. But the chamber’s decision to support only “11 to 14 really legitimate” businesses has caused consternation among the so-called Iron Triangle’s 250 businesses. The Willets Point plan calls for new housing, retail, a hotel, a convention center, offices, open space, and parking, cultural and community facilities.
