Chains take off in Brooklyn

An International House of Pancakes that opened in December in Downtown
Brooklyn has already become the chain’s top-selling restaurant. As The Real Deal reports this month, a wave of franchise businesses are finally taking
notice of Brooklyn, after years of neglect. Target plans to open a
store in Albee Square, only a few blocks from its successful store at
the Atlantic Terminal. Apple has been shown around Downtown Brooklyn,
and potential sites include the planned City Point building at Albee
Square, the Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower and the Municipal Building
on Joralemon Street.
