Bigger revisions to the World Trade Center transportation hub and PATH terminal could be needed if no contractor can be found to build the project for $2.5 billion. But Santiago Calatrava’s bird-like design will remain intact and the train station is still on track to be “completed and functioning” in 2011. Changes could include shrinking a street-level perimeter that will by 10 to 15 percent, and using regular concrete for the mezzanine ceiling instead of the smoother architectural concrete.
