Clothing manufacturer buys UES condo

A member of a family of clothing manufacturers clothes paid $10.47 million for a pair of adjoining fifth floor condominium units in an Upper East Side building, according to property records posted today.

David Cayre bought the property at 28 East 70th Street on May 15, after going into contract in March.
 
The 15-floor building, called the Hampton House Condo, was opened in 1928 and converted into condos in 1995.

The Cayre family business started in 1987 as a producer and marketer of baby and toddler clothes and has expanded into sleepwear and shoes with lines such as Buster Brown, Kids Today, XOXO, Mudd and Intimate Concepts, according to the company Web site.
