UES crane collapse site got litany of safety complaints

May 30, 2008 01:52PM

The site of the Upper East Side crane collapse, 333 East 91st Street, has a history of safety complaints. A full stop-work order at the Azure condominium was lifted only yesterday. Some complaints were related to the crane. The most recent, reported on May 20, claimed that the crane’s platform was extending across the sidewalk and into traffic. An inspector visited the site and found “no unsafe conditions.”
