Gehry axed at Brooklyn theater project

Architect Frank Gehry is no longer working on Theater for a New
Audience’s new building planned for Fort Greene’s BAM Cultural
District. Gehry had been working with Hugh Hardy, who will now be the
sole architect on the project. The theater’s founder said Gehry’s busy
schedule was why he was taken off the job. The $48.5 million project is expected to
break ground in 2009 after delays due to location changes. Gehry said he wasn’t told of the news.
