South Street Seaport area residents and local City Council member Alan Gerson are questioning redevelopment plans at the South Street Seaport. Gerson is holding a hearing today on developer General Growth Properties’ plan to include a 42-story hotel and apartment tower, which he said “does does not accentuate or enhance the unique flavor and historic character of the seaport.”
